Juan Gabriel Moreno is an award winning architect and President of his own firm, JGMA. Mr. Moreno is a native of Bogota, Colombia, and received his Bachelor's Degree in Architecture at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. He also studied architecture in Florence, Italy and has worked on projects in Europe, Latin America, Asia, the Middle East and North America. His current projects include the United Neighborhood Organization's New Elementary School and Instituto Del Progreso Latino's Health Sciences Career Academy, both located in Chicago. In addition, Mr. Moreno is developing a prototype for an Exploration Institute for Children and Youth with Disabilities in Guayaquil, Ecuador.

Mr. Santoy is a key member of the United Neighborhood Organization's (UNO) Real Estate and Facilities Department. He plays a prominent role in the process to identifying, building, and opening future UNO charter schools. His role includes developing a long-term capital improvement plan of UNO’s existing school facilities as well as its new and future facilities. Prior to joining UNO, Mr. Santoy was the Executive Director of the Hispanic American Construction Industry Associatioin (HACIA), an organization with 27 years of history advocating for the equitable participation of Hispanics in the Chicagoland construction industry, Cesar brings a vast network of relationships within the construction industry, as well as his background in architecture. His position at UNO allows him to put into practice both his professional background as well as those important relationships that he’s built across Chicago, in the construction, business, and architectural spheres.

Edward Torrez is a registered architect and a principal at BauerLatoza Studio Ltd. in Chicago, Illinois. Mr. Torrez has been specializing in Historic Preservation, Adaptive Reuse, Sustainable and Green Rehabilitation, Interior Renovation and Urban Planning projects Indiana, Texas and Illinois for over 20 years. He has been principal-in-charge or has managed a number of award winning projects and sustainable projects such as the Manhattan Building Restoration, The Overton Hygienic Building, and University of Chicago NSIT offices (LEED-CI Gold), 9th and 23rd District Police Station (LEED Gold pursued), Engine Company No. 121 (LEED Silver) and Albany Park Middle School (LEED Certified).
Commissioner Torrez was appointed by Mayor Richard M. Daley to serve on the Commission on Chicago Landmarks for the City of Chicago. He also lends his experience to other civic and professional organizations such as Arquitectos, American Institute of Architects (AIA), AIA National Diversity Forum, AIA Chicago, and the Village of Riverside.

Mrs. Jenny Z. d’Escoto is the Furniture Sales Executive for Business Interiors by Staples. Prior to her current work, Mrs. d’Escoto owned and operated her own company, d’Escoto Interiors, a firm specializing in commercial and residential interiors.
Mrs. d’Escoto was on the board of ARQUITECTOS as Treasurer and Membership Director for 2007 and 2008. She is also a 2008 MLI graduate and holds a BA in Interior Design and a BS in Spanish from Indiana University in Bloomington.
